The US Chess National Invitationals
US Chess holds several invitational tournaments for state champions. This year, these tournaments will be held August 3–6 in Grand Rapids, Michigan during the U.S. Open Championships.

To determine Oklahoma's scholastic representatives to these events, each Premier section player's top two regular-season* scores are added to their OSCO state championship score times two.

Scroll down for further information about the national invitationals.
*Regular-season tournaments are OSCO K–12 opens that are not state championship events.

Each year, OSCO selects players to represent Oklahoma at the Denker National Tournament of High School (grades 9-12) State Champions, the Barber National Tournament of Middle School (grades 6-8) State Champions, the Rockefeller National Tournament of Elementary School (grades K-5) State Champions, and the Haring National Tournament of Girls State Champions (grades K-12). Points are awarded to players in the Premier Section at the following qualifying events:

-
September 13, 2025 in Porum
-
October 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City
-
November 15, 2025 in Tulsa
-
January 10, 2026 in Deer Creek
-
February 21, 2026 in Tulsa
and at the state championship (March 14 in Edmond). Girls may compete for either the Haring or for the Denker, Barber, or Rockefeller, according to their school grade.
If the Oklahoma representative declines the opportunity to play, then the player with the next highest score will become the primary nominee. The player must meet all qualifications specified under the USCF rules for the invitational tournaments.

Tiebreaks to determine invitational representatives
If points are tied in any of the invitational categories, the following tiebreaks will be used, in this order:
-
Head-to-head result at State Championship
-
Head-to-head results at all qualifying events that academic year
-
A match consisting of two (alternating colors) G/60;d5 games to be held at a time/place TBD.
-
An Armageddon game.
